Ping to raise $500m for maiden offering - Ping Jiang formerly of SAC Capital Advisors

AsiaHedge - Ping Capital, the New York-based hedge fund shop, recently set up by former SAC Capital Advisors portfolio manager Ping Jiang, is reportedly looking to raise around $500 million for its first hedge fund.

The fund's investment focus will be on emerging-market bonds, stocks, currencies and commodities. Ping Capital has also opened an office in Shanghai and is understood to have a 16-strong team working out of New York and Shanghai.
